He amazes me with his talent of calming our sweet girl. He is a wonderful father who I fall in love with again and again many times during the day. How could I ever do this alone?

Period of Purple Crying
Before we left the hospital we had to watch a video on the period of purple crying. This means that Peak of crying is around 2 months, it is Unexpected, she Resists soothing, makes Pain-like faces, crying can be Long lasting, and she may cry more in the Evening. We watched the video like we would watch those boring videos you have to watch in High School Science classes, with our eyes half shut. Then it hit, right around 1 month and 1/2 her crying became more frequent, longer, and higher pitched than before. Ben would come home and see "the look" in my eyes (telling him I needed a break or I would lose it), give me a big hug, and tell me what a wonderful mother I am. He would take the girl and begin his ritual of calming her down by dancing with her. He would pull up his favorite song first (Luther Vandross, A House is Not a Home) and put her in the dancing position.

He amazes me with his talent of calming our sweet girl. He is a wonderful father who I fall in love with again and again many times during the day. How could I ever do this alone?

Long Days
I love my little Emily. She is so fun and brings a light into our family that wasn't there before. That does not mean she is always easy. Lately she has been very fussy (otherwise knows as colic, or the period of purple crying)and it can be very frustrating. It is a wonderful blessing from God when she gives us her sweet little happy moments.
