Remember how we thought this guy was huge? Well, he isn't so huge anymore. His growth has started slowing so that he is gaining like 3 ounces each 3 month visit rather than 3 pounds. Since we aren't big people, this isn't too surprising.
Even though his growth has slowed down, his development has not. He started babbling a month ago. He says "nana" "mama" "dada" "baba" and long vowel sounds like "eeee" and "oooo." He is most verbal when he is mad. It is funny to listen to.
He has been sitting up for a few months now but hasn't shown any interest in rolling. He could roll just didn't want to. That has changed. He now rolls over as soon as we put him down. He also scoots (crawls) backwards. He grabs everything and, as normal, puts them in his mouth.
Andrew loves to watch his sister. He laughs so much when she is around. He also loves to see me. What can I say? He's a Momma's boy.
We finally buckled and had him cry it out a few weeks ago. It really sucked. Big time. It wasn't because he wouldn't sleep (like Emily) but because he would wake up 3-4 times from midnight until 7 am. I was tired, Ben was tired, and Andrew was tired. Something needed to change. So we let him "cry it out" a few nights in a row and now he sleeps from 7 or 8 until 6:30 or 7. He and Emily share a room (and have done so since he was 5 months old) and keep each other company. In fact, if Andrew is in my room in the mornings, Emily will wake up and ask "where baby Andy?" It is very cute.
Something I really appreciate is how much Andrew snuggles with me. I also am grateful for how well he eats. He eats 2 meals a day and nurses the rest of the time. He is not picky--he eats all his vegetables and all his fruits.
He is a mellow guy.
