From A to Z and Everything In Between

Remember how we this blog died after we moved from Utah?  Since your curiosity is obviously piqued, this is what happened from Idaho to Missouri.

Idaho (June 5-18)

We ate, we drank, we swam, we had an excellent time.  It was here that Emily started calling me "Amber" and Ben "Ben."  Besides that little snag, our time in Boise was a blast!

We chilled.

Played with the Aunts and Uncles.

Swam.

And played with an awesome toy that Andrew clearly loved.

Saying good-bye was hard.

Proof that we packed our car FULL of everything we own.

Sacramento (June 18-July 1)
Emily and Andrew were spoiled with attention and animals.

We were lucky to be in town for Ben's uncle Aaron's birthday party.  We drove to beautiful Napa where I was lucky to meet more of Ben's extended family.  It was really nice.  The kids were enthusiastic about the pool.  Clearly.

Emily and Andrew had a wonderful time visiting with Papa Wayne and GGMel.  First at their house where the babes played piano (gee I want one!), loved on the dog, and walked on the treadmill (not shown but video to post soon).

Then at Fairytale Town.  A delightful park made for kids located next to Sacramento Zoo.  As you can see, Emily and Andrew thought it was perfect.  And so did we.

There were slides!

A big giant's foot to play on (perhaps her imaginary giant?)!

A carriage with horses!

A train!

And two happy, tired babies at the end of the day.

Redding (July 1-10)
I think this was the busiest leg of our trip.  We enjoyed many family dinners with Grampa Thom, Nananan, Kelly, Jeremy, baby Charlotte, and Nan.  Next to Charlotte, Andrew looks so big! Wait...he IS big.

We played at some fun parks.

Finally, we had a mini-reunion to celebrate Nana and Papa's 60th wedding anniversary.  Lots and lots of family love.

After almost 6 weeks of family visits, we made our trek to MO.  My only regret was how tired Ben and I were.  He had just finished school and full-time work while I was still recovering from the miscarriage.  That on top of our poor babies being shuffled from place to place, and struggling, and, yeah, we were not the life of any party.  But at least we were AT the parties.  : )

We love and miss all of you in Idaho and California.  Come visit us soon!  You might fall in love with the Midwest just like me.

What a whirlwind adventure!!! Traveling is made much harder once you have kids... and I'm sure your families were just so thrilled to have you there that they didn't care how tired you were.

Side note: Tyler's grandparents live in Sacramento and Tyler always tells stories of his grandma taking him and all his cousins to Fairytale Town. His grandma is such an enthusiast that his family bought her one of the sponsor bricks at the park. I haven't been, but it does seem like it would be a magical place for little kids!

Wow! I can't get over what a big kid Andrew's becoming! And his hair's so long!
